Description
Cake entry number two!
After "My Broderie Tyrannosaurus" I wanted to try something with less sculpting, where I could spend more time on smaller details.
I started by making one chocolate 13x9 cake and carved it into the right shape along with the little suit case cake. Then I iced them and covered them with fondant. I rolled out more fondant and cut the shapes. I started with the bird house, jars, suit cases, and the twig. I painted all the pieces with gel food coloring+water and laid them on the cake. Then I added the ropes.
Next, I made the birdie. At first, I had a little trouble getting his face right, but I loved how the goggles and feathers turned out.
Overall I was really happy with this cake. Thanks for the great design and the opportunity to show it off.
P.S. I have no idea why she's eating with tongs. That's just the kind of weird she is~ =3
