I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly

Description
This is my second entry into Threadcakes 2010. And my second representation for Team Buttercream!
The cake is devil's food and the icing is white buttercream. While the cake was mixing, I prepared the pans for baking. During the baking time (45 minutes), I prepared my colors for decorating and set them aside to cool & firm up. The cakes were then cooled as well and put in the freezer to firm up. I then took the 8" circle and created the dog (20 minutes). Then the cat was cut out and placed upon the dog (lollipop stick for support) and decorated (20 minutes). Finally, the bird was cut out and placed upon the cat and decorated. I also added the spider and the fly (10 minutes). This cake took a little longer than I expected, maybe because it was so small. All in all, it was pretty decent and of course it was delicious!
