Description
This is my second entry this year. I had so much fun doing the Popsicle cake that I thought I would do up another one! When I decided to try out this contest I found 3 designs I wanted to try - Rocketbird was one of them.
My cake is simple. My thought was to put Rocketbird flying through the clouds. I made a yellow box cake (my daughter helped with the mixing) with home made butter cream icing tinted blue. The bird and the clouds are rolled out of store-bought fondant. Using a printout I traced out the outline of the bird, jet-pack and flame. The clouds were cut with a cookie cutter and everything else (details) was done by eye-balling it. I added a little yellow sparkle dust on and around the flame although I don't think you can tell from the pictures.
I'm really happy with the way this came out! Hopefully, I'll have time to submit one more entry this year!
