RED

Well another year, another threadcake entry! This is my third year entering and I wanted to work on my sculpting skills. I decided on RED as there was so many textures and she would definitely be a challenge for me. To begin I sketched her out to ensure I could recreate her shape and whipped up a RED velvet cake (see what I did there, HA) with chocolate frosting in the layers and Swiss meringue buttercream under the fondant and modeling chocolate. I used one single internal half inch pipe wrapped in cling wrap for food safety which, was screwed to the cake drum and two toothpicks were used to stabilize the wolf's ears. There was sculpting, texturizing, molds and lots of painting. She took me around 15 hours in total because I knew I wanted to take my time and get her just right.
