The Last Piece

After perusing all the designs, the sumos fighting over the teeny sushi stole my heart and my wasabi. The entire process took about 6-7 hours, including baking time. The cake is a scratch yellow cake with vanilla buttercream icing, covered in vanilla fondant. I used 8 toothpicks in all, most of them to minimize decapitation. The wee tiny sushi is also fondant and is about the size of a Tic-Tac. The cake was delicious and as you can see, my husband went back for more. I decided to add one extra element so I put the t-shirt with the "revenge of the sushi" design on one of the sumo dudes. I thought it would be appropriate.
