Peace and Love

I've always really liked this t-shirt design, mostly because it's so simple, but still so pretty. I knew that after my plain sheet cake entry, I wanted to try carving some cake, and this seemed like a great way to try it. The cake is a box mix (shh), because it was sturdier than the scratch recipes I have. The icing is straight royal icing, thick for the decorations (which broke anyway and had to be piped directly on) and thinned out for the base. I thinned out the icing for the base on purpose, because I wanted a little bit of that awesome pink cake to peek through, in a nod to both versions of the shirt.
