8 BIT Vendetta cake by Britain Spinney

Description

As soon as I saw this design I thought, "How do I make this into cake?" It's just so funny and such and awesome design. I knew the duck was going to be the hardest part so I saved that for last. I baked 3, 6 inch chocolate cakes and made the gun and duck's bill first. Then I started on the TV and Nintendo. The detail of the TV screen and the Nintendo was my favorite part. I covered the base board in fondant and started on the duck. Originally I was going to make the bottom half of the duck styrofoam, but I wanted to make as much of him eatable as possible so I made his body from rice krispies, cake and shaped some "cake clay" to make his neck. His head was also rice krispies. After carving his body I covered him with frosting and then fondant. After I had everything on the base, I started painting in all of the black detail. In total I only used 3 dowels for support, two for the ducks legs and one to hold the Nintendo in place and bubble straws for the legs and gun. Throughout the course of about 4 days I think it took me about 15 hours. It was delicious and I think I had just as much fun eating the Nintendo as I did making it!
