Lazy Sunday cake by Britain Spinney

Description

I loved this design when I saw it and thought it would be perfect just how it was on the top of a cake! I look forward to theis contest every year, but I wasn't sure I was going to have the time to enter this year with a three month old baby, but I did it and I am very proud of myself and how the cake turned out! I made a tie dye cake (which turned out really cool on the inside) with and almond frosting and then covered the whole thing in white fondant. Originally I made a template so I could airbrush the blue part on and then make the pandas from fondant, but I decided the airbrush wasn't going to work so I hand painted the blue. Then when I tried to make the pandas they didn't turn out how I planned either so I hand painted them also. I haven't done too much in the way of painting cakes so I was a little nervous, but I couldn't be happier with how the cake turned out. It took me about a day and half mostly working in the baby's nap times!! The cake turned out great and tasted great too!
