Honey Moon

One son chose Star Sabers, the other insisted on a cake version of his favourite Threadless t-shirt for his 6th birthday. Here it is.

Space is a giant brownie with white chocolate chips. The moon is a honey genoise, filled with a honey Bavarian cream core.

Everything on the cake is edible. The moon is covered in fondant, embossed and painted with food coloring, with strained peach jam painted on to create the look of dripping honey. The astronauts and bees are painted gum paste. The wings of the bees are edible soy sushi wrappers.

It took a lot of hours to put this one together, but it's my favourite of all the Threadcakes I have made.
