Cake Is Awesome!

Description
It's true, cake IS awesome, and I thought it deserved a Threadcakes entry. Unfortunately my planning skills are less awesome. I hereby submit this entry as a cautionary tale.
I started by baking a pistachio genoise. So far so good.
I filled and frosted it with almond buttercream. Still doing fine.
I glazed the top with bittersweet chocolate ganache. All was well.
I piped the face and words into the cake. All ready for the next step.
Then I sculpted the guitar and arms out of rice krispie treats. The sculpting went fine, but I should have suspected something was amiss when they refused to set up firmly enough.
Let me mention this is my first time using rice krispies to sculpt cake elements.
I covered them with a blend of white chocolate clay and fondant (way easier to work with than straight fondant or clay), and painted on the colors.
My original plan was to lean the guitar on the edge of the cake to help support it. Lack of careful enough planning on my part meant that I couldn't get the right angle to do this. Uh oh.
Instead I settled for a wooden skewer as support, make that three. Nevertheless, the overly soft rice krispie centre started slumping immediately. Oops.
