Self Destruction

This is the second decorated cake I've ever made, and it took me all in all about seven hours. The inside cake mix is Cherry Chip so it'd look all nice and explodey (that's a word now, haha) when you cut into it. I used a couple of round cake pans and stacked them on top of each other to make the ball shape, then covered him with buttercream icing. After the icing got a little more stiff I rolled out some fondant and mixed it with black food coloring to make the outside covering. His accessories are made out of fondant too, so he is entirely edible. It was incredibly difficult to get that arm holding the lighter to stay up there, because I didn't want to add any dowels or other inedible pieces to my cake. And it tasted pretty good too ;)
