Bunny and Gopher

This is my seventh threadcakes entry this year..I decided to forgo covering the whole cake in fondant for this cake because I wanted to add cookie "dirt" to make it look like our friends had just burrowed out of the (purple) ground to play their cards and drink their adult beverages..and I didn't think it would look good just sprinkled on top of the fondant..

Nothing is inedible in this cake. The characters on top are made of fondant with hand painted eyeballs and mouths..The cake itself was a white cake mix, frosted with vanilla frosting that I decided to add burgundy food coloring to instead of red like the shirt background because I really just didn't want to make a fluorescent red cake. I like the purpley shade it came out instead. The chocolate cookies mixed with the white cake and frosting tasted pretty good ;).
