Pillow Fight Champion

Always look forward to doing Threadcakes! Was torn between 5 designs this year, so I decided on something fun and cute! First I baked 2 9 x 13 sheet cakes ( yellow pound cake). Next I built my structure using double thick foamcore, plastic tubing and dowels. After the cakes were done cooling they were all cut down to 7 1/2 by 4 sized pieces with a slice of RKT on the bottom. . I put one coat of icing on and let it sit overnight in the fridge. Sculpted away the excess the next day and applied another crumboat. I then mixed some grey fondant for the main p[art of the pillow. I added some extra icing for the black eye for effect. Pretty straight forward from there in adding the red trunks and the fighters belt. Once I added the face it all started to come together!! Loved adding the little black and white accents as well. I added the arms last using double thick armature wire coated with chocolate to hold the fondant on. Once everything set for a few hours it was off to eat!!
